#36: Beauty Review: Ruby Kisses Set N' Forget Setting Powder in Banana (Ben Nye's Banana Powder Dupe)

Highlighting is a recent step I've added to my make-up routine around the start of this year. I've made my mistakes along the way, including setting my concealer with the same powder I set my foundation. Now twenty-something YouTube tutorials on highlighting and contouring I know better.

While still on the hunt to find the Ben Nye Luxury Powders locally, I decided to give what others say is a dupe for the highly coveted beauty staple. The Ruby Kisses HD Set N' Forget Setting Powder is readily available at your local beauty supply stores. It comes in 4 shades: Invisible, Banana, Earth and Rich.

I opted for the more popular shade Banana in hopes of achieving a Kim K. type of flawless finish. For me, it does provide an amazing highlighting effect when used to set my concealer. I tried it with both a low-end concealer (L.A. Girl Pro Concealer) and a department store concealer ( M.A.C. Studio Finish Concealer) and the Ruby Kisses works well with both.

I've read reviews where people have said that it can leave a white cast with flash photography. I am not sure of how true this is because I usually take photos in natural light. Regardless of that, I would still recommend giving the Ruby Kisses HD Set N' Forget Setting Powder a try.
