#30: Weight Loss Journey 2014 - September, October & November
At last we meet again extra flub around my mid-section! You can read earlier rantings of my weight loss journey here and here.
But in September something changed. I became less concerned with the numbers on the scale or the tape measure. I came to the conclusion I would analyze my progress through pictures.
OMG! *deep sigh* Well, here we go...
In September I hired a virtual trainer to teach me about proper nutrition and to design a workout schedule that wasn't too overwhelming. The first two weeks were hard. My diet consisted of only lean pieces of chicken and fish in addition to fruit and vegetables. I would recommend this type of cleanse as it really makes you aware that food is more about fuel for your body than it is a pleasurable recreational activity. During this phase I working out 5 times a week.
October rolled in and I began working out 4 days a week as I felt that I wasn't spending enough quality time at home. When I was in the gym my primary focus was strength training and cardio being secondary. Towards the end of the month I began incorporating corn and rice based products back into my diet. I'd tried the same with wheat and dairy products but my body wasn't having it.
November comes with its own set of challenges. I plan to work overtime at my job for the next month and a half, making me get home a little later than usual. I have decided to do cardio in the form of HIIT training DVDs at home on Mondays and Tuesdays. Strength training will be done at the gym Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. I will cut back on the rice and corn products and up my intake of fresh vegetables and fruit.
See y'all in a month!
