The Best Beauty Products of 2017
Last year was quite the year for me. Lots of personal ups and downs as well as highs and lows. But one thing was for certain...I woke up each day willing to put my best foot forward to embrace whatever came my way.
Wait. Not only my best foot but also my best face forward. I spent the majority of 2017 pregnant so I tried to keep my make-up routine simple but enough to where it looked like I put in some effort. Many products that I used just because I had them were soon replaced with things that I loved so much I had to share with you by writing this post. I'm also curious to see if these products will stand the test of being on my must have list post partum. I guess only time, and my monthly trips to Ulta, will tell.
I have really oily skin. Like really oily. I love using this primer and finishing spray on even the days when I don't wear make-up because they are just that dope of products. I've tried higher end primers and sprays but these two budget friendly finds are where it's at!
Remember when beauty tutorials on YouTube became a thing back in 2009-2010 and everyone was all into drugstore beauty products? And then with monetization of blogs and sponsored contents it was all about the bigger (and more expensive) make-up brands.
Well, due to lifestyle changes last summer my budget had me back scanning the aisles of Walgreens for my next beauty fix. Luckily, one of my favorite YouTubers, Brandi Lofton, had done a review on the L'Oreal True Match products. She and I are kind of "skin twins" so I purchased the same shades she used.
The coverage on these are amazing for people like me who prefer light to medium coverage. I layer these two, the crayon first, because although they are the same shade number wise, the liquid concealer is much lighter in comparison.
I never thought I would find powders I like better than my Ben Nye powders. This L'Oreal powder in the shade N7 is perfect as an all over face powder as it blurs my minor imperfections.
The shade W8 is perfect for setting anywhere I used concealer to highlight.
To achieve that perfect naturally contoured look, I sweep C7 on my temples, sides of my nose and in the hollows of my cheeks.
What I love most about this brow pencil is that it's cruelty free. I started that transition to more ethical make-up and will slowly replace my collection with more products of such standards.
The eyelid primer from E.L.F. helps to keep by brows from getting oily during the day and keeps the shading from the pencil in place.
I always layer my mascaras and this combo was a define hit. Gel liners are to me the best type of eye liner when compared with liquid or pencil. The dark, yet, matte finish of this liner by NYX never fails to add that little boost of "come hither" to my upper lash line.
Here's an untouched photo of my favorite and best beauty products of 2017. Are any of the products I mentioned part of your must have list? Any suggestions of things I should try in the new year? I would love to hear your recommendations in the comments below.
